Before we get to the recap, a couple quick
reminders: Fundamental Practice: Sleep = Digital Sunset
(In case you missed it Monday…)
Earlier this week we introduced our second Fundamental Practice: Sleep, which we’ll be operationalizing with a Digital Sunset.
As with all of the Fundamental Practices, if you’d like to earn an Official Heroic Coach Certification, once a new behavior is introduced you’ll need to complete that behavior 5/7 days per week going forward.
(And again, if you’re not interested in earning a Certification, ALL GOOD! We still encourage you to Practice these behaviors as often as possible, as it’s only by DOING these things that we experience their benefits.)
So…
If you already had a chance to watch this week’s module, then you were walked through the details in Module IV: Carpe Diem - Part 2: The PM Bookend. Quick recap: one hour before you’d like to be asleep, you put stimulating technology away for the night. You get to define the details of how (off and in the closet, in airplane mode with no wifi, meditation + kindle apps only, zero technology period, etc.) and when, but whatever your particular Digital Sunset protocol looks like—do it!
I’ll repeat this line again just in case you missed it: Starting now, if you’d like to earn an Official Heroic Coach certification, you’ll need to complete a Digital Sunset 5/7 days per week.
Note: the Big 3 (x2) Carpe Diem Journal Practice was the first Fundamental we introduced, and is how we’re operationalizing our Fundamental of Prosper. The details on why that’s our Fundamental Practice for Prospering will come later in the program. For now, how’s your consistency on that so far?! How was your consistency this past week?
Note2: There are seven total Fundamentals you’ll be practicing
5/7 days per week by the end of the program if you’d like to earn a Certification. While we’ve already introduced a few of them and encouraged you to Practice them consistently (for example, gratitude and meditation), the only two you’re officially responsible for completing at this point are the Heroic Daily Practice or Carpe Diem Journal and (starting this week,) a Digital Sunset.
>> If you’re not up-to-date in the Mastery Series, the most important thing you can be doing is practicing these two required practices.

One more thing before the recap: Next Monday There won’t be an email. It’s an off week from the Mastery Series, so we’ll do an off week for Monday’s email as well!

time to start at the beginning of our Optimal day—which just so happens to be the END of the prior day. As such, we’re going to start architecting our Masterpiece Day with a solid Shutdown Complete and Digital Sunset protocol. We’ll get better at turning our brains off so we can get to bed earlier and wake up (without an alarm?) nice and early feeling all bright and shiny. (Note: Heroes consistently tell us THIS session changes lives.)
